Elizabeth Chambers’ kids don’t know about her romantic link to her new boyfriend because she wants to “mitigate trauma.”
The Bird Bakery founder said in an Instagram Q&A Monday that she’s holding off on sharing the news with daughter Harper, 8, and son Ford, 6, because she’s still going through her divorce from disgraced actor Armie Hammer.
“They don’t know he’s my BF,” Chambers wrote in response to a follower who asked how her kids were with her beau, Ricardas Kazinec.
“Over the past two and a half years, my main (and only) priority has been to mitigate trauma and protect my kids at all costs.”
Chambers, 40, said she doesn’t find it “helpful, productive, or necessary” for her kids to meet Kazinec while they’re still “emotionally processing” their parents’ divorce.
“Children first, but to each their own,” she concluded.
Although the Texas native hasn’t informed her kids about Kazinec, she went Instagram-official with the 26-year-old in September 2022 after weeks of teasing his presence in her life. The pair met in the Cayman Islands, where Chambers has been living since the start of the pandemic.
A couple of months later, Chambers posted a photo of herself nuzzling up to Kazinec and wrote, “He’s the cutest and makes me very happy.”
The Food Network personality filed for divorce from the “Call Me by Your Name” star, 36, in July 2020 — months before his “cannibal” scandal broke — after 10 years of marriage. It also came before a woman named Effie publicly accused Hammer of “violently” raping her.
Despite the “Death of the Nile” actor’s very public downfall, he and Chambers appear to have put their divorce on hold, as there have been no updates in the case since May 5, 2021, according to a filing seen by Page Six.
They also appear to be co-parenting amicably, as Chambers has included Hammer at their children’s birthday parties and they even traveled to Los Angeles together.
