T.J. Holmes and Amy Robach have reportedly been keeping their distance while ABC decides whether the two will return to host “GMA3.”
“They wouldn’t dare be caught together now, not while ABC is making a decision,” an insider told the Daily Mail on Tuesday.
“Their marriages are over, but they have children to think about and they don’t want to jeopardize their futures with the network any more than they already have.”
Page Six previously confirmed that the co-anchors would remain off “GMA3” indefinitely after ABC News president Kim Godwin emailed staffers to say they will maintain a “rotation of anchors” while they make their decision.
“It is my hope that we will continue to focus our energy on what we do best, and I want all of you to know how immensely proud I am of your hard work and professionalism,” she wrote in the email obtained by Page Six.
The announcement came just hours after Page Six revealed that “every anchor is upset that Amy and T.J. have caused such drama.”
“No one wants to be associated with this,” one insider bluntly put it.
ABC initially kept Holmes, 45, and Robach, 49, on the air but that changed after they joked about their “great week” following their secret affair being exposed last month.
“If the decision is to not address it, then don’t address it! T.J. made light of it on-air. Amy’s smarter than that, but how else is she supposed to respond?” one insider spilled.
A source told Page Six that things turned romantic between Robach and Holmes — who are still married to other people — while they were training together for the New York City Half Marathon in March.
They reportedly waited to leave their spouses until August.
And although Robach’s divorce from Andrew Shue is nearly finalized, a source told us that Holmes’ wife, Marilee Fiebig, was “blindsided” by the news despite being separated for months.
Robach and Shue, 55, have been married since 2010. She shares two teenage daughters — Ava and Annie — with her ex-husband, Tim McIntosh, while Shue has three sons with ex-wife Jennifer Hageney.
Coincidentally, Holmes and Fiebig also tied the knot in 2010, and the two co-parent daughter Sabine. Holmes and his ex-wife, Amy Ferson, also share daughter Brianna and son Jaiden.
