A handful of Hollywood A-listers were stranded outside the 2023 SAG Awards venue during Sunday night’s ceremony in Los Angeles.
Bill Murray, Rooney Mara and Claire Foy were among the stars who were temporarily blocked from accessing the ballroom inside the Fairmont Century Plaza hotel, as seen in video footage shared by Variety co-editor-in-chief Ramin Setoodeh.
“Total chaos at the SAG Awards as Claire Foy and Rooney Mara are not being allowed inside the ballroom of the Fairmont Hotel — they’re told they need to wait for the Fire Marshal to let them and hundreds of other guests inside,” Setoodeh tweeted.
The “Ladies Who Punch” author added, “Even Bill Murray has to wait. This is madness!”
In one instance, Foy, 38, looked a bit annoyed about the holdup while conversing with another attendee in line, while Mara, 37, had a stoic expression chatting with someone else.
Meanwhile, Murray, 72, peered about the room with a man, who appeared to be a security guard, standing nearby.
The cause of the blockage remains unclear, but according to social media posts, it seemed to be resolved by 5 p.m. local time.
Prior to the congestion, the group of stars walked the red carpet in an array of sleek looks.
Foy dazzled in a yellow Prada gown paired with a sparkling clutch and diamond jewelry. Mara, for her part, turned heads in a sheer black-and-white Alexander McQueen number and minimal accessories.
Both women are nominated for outstanding performance by a cast in a motion picture for their work in “Women Talking.”
And Murray — who was last nominated for a SAG Award in 2016 for “A Very Murray Christmas” — made a dapper black suit pop with a multicolored bowtie.
