Spotted: Blake Lively going over to the dark side.
On Thursday, the “Gossip Girl” alum shared a snap on her Instagram Stories showcasing her new brunette hair, a striking change from her signature blond.
Lively, 35, debuted the darker hue in a mysterious selfie set to the Smashing Pumpkins’ “Lily (My One and Only),” with the star sporting a red lip and what appears to be black mesh lingerie.
The sultry snap comes after it was announced that Lively will be starring in the movie adaptation of Colleen Hoover’s bestselling book “It Ends With Us” alongside “Jane the Virgin” actor Justin Baldoni.
Lively is playing Lily, a redhead – so it’s possible she’ll undergo another hair makeover before filming begins.
Despite Lively’s latest hair transformation, fans on Twitter were upset that a natural redhead wasn’t cast in the role.
“Y’all should’ve casted a legit ginger,” one person tweeted about the movie news.
Another person wrote they don’t “like Blake Lively playing Lily” because “Lily is a redhead,” adding, “I hope at least she dyes her hair.”
Lively is known for her red carpet-ready locks – although she did share a very bad hair day on Instagram in December.
“How did not one person find the time to mention to me that this is what my hair looked like today?” Lively asked at the time, tagging her husband, Ryan Reynolds, 46.
And in December 2020, she shared a self-deprecating snap showing off her tangled quarantine hair.
Fans are anxiously awaiting the birth of the “Age of Adaline” actress and “Deadpool” star’s fourth child.
Lively has given her followers rare glimpses of her baby bump throughout her latest pregnancy.
In January, Lively showed her pregnancy progress alongside her personal trainer on Instagram, quipping that her exercise routine “isn’t working.”
