Diplo doesn’t want to “define” his sexuality — but he says he’s “not not gay.”
The DJ told Emily Ratajkowski in Tuesday’s episode of her “High Low” podcast that he isn’t “aroused by men that much,” though he noted, “I’m sure I’ve gotten a blow job from a guy before. … For sure. 100 [percent], yeah.”
The model, 31, then asked Diplo, 44, whether he had a “specific memory,” to which he played coy.
“I’ve gotten a lot of blow jobs, but I don’t know,” he said. “I mean, getting a blow job is not that gay, I think.”
Ratajkowski laughed, saying, “I don’t know. You tell me?”
When the music producer asked what they had been speaking about before the subject of his sexuality, the “My Body” author deadpanned, “Bill Clinton.”
Ratajkowski was the first to bring up Diplo’s sexual orientation early into the episode.
“We should talk about what you said to me last night, which is that you’re a little gay,” she recounted.
“You want to cut right into that?” he asked. “I was really into the social media [questions].”
As they continued to speak about TikTok and Instagram, Diplo, whose real name is Thomas Wesley Pentz, mentioned the “sexy” woodchopping men often featured on his feed.
“They’re hot guys. I don’t know if that’s gonna be the thing that’s gonna send me over to the gay side totally,” he joked, asking whether TikTok “tell[s] you that you’re gay.”

Ratajkowski confirmed, saying, “I was on lesbian TikTok for a while, and it was like, ‘OK. Insightful.’”
She brought “it back to [him] being gay” later in the interview, calling the possibility “exciting.”
The “Gone Girl” actress said, “You should be happy. … I could just be talking to you only about your relationships to women. I like that you’re a little flexible.”
Diplo clarified that he doesn’t “want to define that [he’s] gay,” adding, “I think the best answer I have is I’m not not gay. There are a couple guys … I could date, life partner-wise.”
After saying he is “more of a vibe guy … over gender,” the Grammy winner spoke about how “the temperature of our culture has changed” with men being more “fluid.”
He explained, “[When I was young], you had gay kids at school and gay cousins or whatever, but it was different than it is now. I thought it was, like, weird to be gay.”
Diplo has publicly been in relationships with Katy Perry and M.I.A. over the years.
He shares sons Lockett, 13, and Lazer, 9, with Kathryn Lockhart, as well as son Pace, 2, with Jevon King.
In 2019, Diplo responded to speculation about his sexuality via Twitter, calling masculinity a “prison.”
Three years prior, he tweeted that he was “only half gay.”
