Even Paul Mescal can’t contain his nervous energy around Zendaya.
The “Aftersun” actor and “Euphoria” star were paired to present the SAG Award for best female actor in a television movie or series, which went to tumbler Jessica Chastain, but the awkwardness began as soon as the duo made their way to the stage.
Mescal, 27, appeared to nervously offer his arm to Zendaya to assist her up the steps — but the “Spider-Man: Homecoming” actress missed it, which resulted in the first, slightly embarrassing moment.
Once at the podium, the “Normal People” performer giggled to himself seemingly in response to the exchanged that occurred on the steps.
Naturally, fans couldn’t help but obsess over Mescal’s nervous energy.

Some also thought the “Greatest Showman” star, 26, actually “swerved” Mescal’s arm offer to assist her up the steps given her heels and slinky dress.

While Zendaya’s intentions are not exactly clear, perhaps she had longtime boyfriend Tom Holland on her mind; unfortunately, the “Uncharted” star didn’t attend the SAG Awards with his girlfriend Sunday night. He also didn’t attend the 2022 Emmys with her either, as he was filming “The Crowded Room” at the time.
