George Clooney has his wife’s back.
The “Ocean’s 11” star may have been presented with a lifetime achievement award at the 2022 Kennedy Center Honors, but he made sure Amal Clooney looked her best on the red carpet as well.
On Saturday, at the Artist’s Dinner held to celebrate this year’s honorees ahead of Sunday night’s event, Clooney, 61, was spotted sweetly adjusting the train of Amal’s red Valentino Haute Couture dress, which featured a large cape that required some assistance.
Amal, 44, accessorized the superhero-worthy gown with a red clutch and glittering earrings, while George kept it classic in a tuxedo.
Others who were honored during the annual ceremony included Amy Grant, Gladys Knight, Tania León and U2, while stars like Brandi Carlile, Katie Couric, Sheryl Crow and more walked the carpet.
Of course, President Joe Biden and First Lady Jill Biden as well as Vice President Kamala Harris and Second Gentleman Doug Emhoff were also in the crowd, and later hosted a reception for the honorees at the White House.
In addition to his wife, Clooney’s parents were in attendance for the star’s big night, though his 5-year-old twins Ella and Alexander stayed home for the event-filled weekend in Washington, DC.
On Sunday, George again chose a simple tux, but Amal wowed in a crystal-covered silver Valentino Haute Couture gown — this time keeping it sleek with a form-fitting silhouette instead of a sweeping train.
Frequent co-star Julia Roberts was in attendance on Sunday night for support, even wearing a custom Moschino gown printed with framed photos of Clooney from throughout his life and career.
Once inside the event, Roberts changed out of her Clooney-themed dress into a classic black suit.
Perhaps George stepped in to help with the wardrobe switch-up for his on-screen wife as well.
