Megan Thee Stallion’s former bodyguard — and a key witness in the case against Tory Lanez — has vanished ahead of her scheduled appearance in court, a rep said.
Justin Edison, a former member of the rapper’s security squad, is slated to testify next week in the ongoing assault trial against Lanez for allegedly shooting Megan in the foot in 2020.
But Edison’s testimony appeared to be in jeopardy on Saturday, according to an attorney for Megan Thee Stallion.
“We recently learned that Justin Edison went missing right before he was scheduled to appear in court,” the attorney, Alex Spiro, told TMZ Saturday.
Spiro said the LAPD is “currently looking into his disappearance,” but a spokesperson for the department told The Post that a missing person’s case has not been opened on Edison.
When asked if it was wrong to say the police were searching for Edison, the spokesperson said, “Yeah, because it makes him look sound like he’s a criminal.”
A source told The Shade Room that Edison’s attorney hasn’t heard from him since Thursday.
Lanez, whose legal name is Daystar Peterson, has pleaded not guilty to accusations that he shot Megan after they left a 2020 party at Kylie Jenner’s house. He is charged with assault with a firearm, illegal possession of a firearm and negligent discharge of a gun.
Megan emotionally testified Tuesday that Lanz shot her because he was upset they left the party and after an argument concerning a love triangle erupted on the ride home.
Lanez’s bodyguard and Megan’s friend Kelsey Harris were in the car when Megan asked to be let out, she claimed. Lanez then allegedly fired several shots at her, shouting, “dance, bitch!”
Harris texted Megan’s manager that night, “Help. Tory shot meg. 911” and told prosecutors in September that Lanz fired the gun. On Wednesday, she testified that she didn’t see Lanz shoot Megan.
Lanez’s team suggested the shooting was between Megan and Harris.
