Kathy Griffin joked that Prince Harry meeting Meghan Markle over Instagram seems like a something embattled actor Armie Hammer would do.
“I thought this was going to be a great love story … Prince Harry’s like Armie freaking Hammer,” she said of the ex-royal revealing in the new Netflix docuseries that he first saw a photo of his wife while scrolling on the social media platform.
Griffin added, “Yeah, what if Prince Harry is the new House of Hammer?”
Hammer — who is currently under investigation for allegedly raping an ex-lover — was accused by multiple women in 2021 of abuse and allegedly sending vulgar messages on social media. He has denied all allegations.
“Prince Harry was just flipping through Instagram looking for another hot brunette, like every other guy in LA” Griffin joked. “So I’m disappointed.”
In another video, Griffin poked fun of the Harry and Markle’s philanthropic endeavors.
“Acting like they can do so much good in the world, which is great and aspirational,” she said, “but when’s the last time a royal did anything that helped the world? That’s all I’m saying.”
The “Suddenly Susan” alum also noted that Markle, 41, “kinda acts like she was never on ‘Deal or No Deal’ and when I say ‘kinda acts like,’ I mean they don’t acknowledge it at all which is hilarious to me.
“That’s a good gig if you’re an actress, union, high-paying job,” she added.
In October, the former actress shared that she quit her 2006 job as a briefcase girl on the game show because she was being “reduced to a bimbo and felt that there was “little substance” to the role.
“I ended up quitting the show. I was so much more than what was being objectified on the stage,” she said on an episode of her podcast, “Archetypes.”
Whoopi Goldberg criticized Markle on “The View” stating that taking jobs that aren’t always ideal is part and parcel of show business.
“When you’re a performer, you take the gig,” Goldberg said. “You take the gig. Sometimes, you’re in a Bozo suit, sometimes you got a big nose, and this is just the way it is.”
She continued, “We’re not journalists. We’re actors. We’re trying to get to another place.”
Griffin also teased the “Suits” alum for “acting like she doesn’t even know what hair and makeup is. “I’ve never been in this situation where someone would take my picture,” she said, pretending to be Markle.
“You’re an actor…” she quipped, before adding that she’s definitely going to be tuning into the next three episodes, which drop on Netflix Thursday at 3 a.m. ET.
