Mama June’s ex-boyfriend Geno Doak has reportedly relapsed after completing a nine-month stint in rehab.
The troubled reality star, who left a South Carolina rehab facility in June, told TMZ that he “regretfully” relapsed on alcohol last week, disrupting his sobriety journey.
Doak told the outlet that he hasn’t had a sip of alcohol since the slip-up – and is determined to get back on track.
While he’s not planning to go back to rehab this time around, he told TMZ he’s committed to attending regular AA meetings.
As previously reported, Doak shared that he lost about 70 pounds at the six-month mark of his rehab stay back in February, noting that getting clean helped him turn his lifestyle around drastically.
“They prepare your meals for you, so anyway, it’s on a better eating schedule. I’m not snacking at night,” he explained to TMZ at the time. “I’m obviously not going out and eating fast food, things of that nature.”
Doak checked into rehab in September 2021 following a brief hospitalization in Fort Pierce, Fla. He was then referred to a recovery center in South Carolina, which he left in June after completing his stint.
Doak first started dating Mama June, 43, in 2015 before rekindling their romance in 2016. The two were on and off for several years since then, until the reality star pulled the plug on their romance for good in August 2021.
June and Doak notably made headlines after they were arrested together at an Alabama gas station in 2019 after a domestic dispute, resulting in Doak being sentenced to 16 months in Macon Community Corrections.
The “Mama June: From Not to Hot” star has since moved on with Justin Stroud. The two secretly tied the knot in March at a courthouse in Georgia after less than one year of dating.
