Megan Thee Stallion’s boyfriend spoke of his girlfriend’s “courage” as a jury deliberates in her shooting trial against Tory Lanez.
“To any woman especially ones of color that has suffered an injustice, I feel for you,” Pardison “Pardi” Fontaine wrote on his Instagram Story Thursday.
He continued, “When you do find the courage to speak up.. it seems you will be ridiculed.. your credibility will [be] questioned.. your entire past will be held under a magnifying glass.. in an instant, you can go from victim to defendant in the eyes of the public.”
Pardi, 32, then shared how much respect he has for women of color who have to go through the same experience as his girlfriend.
“To anyone with a daughter, sister, mother, niece or aunt.. I pray for their protection.. I pray for their covering.. I wouldn’t wish this on anyone,” he concluded.
The “Ungrateful” rapper, 27, took the stand during the second day of the trial last week, expressing the lack of support she has received from the male hip-hop community.
“Every man in a position of power in the music industry has taken his side,” Megan said of Lanez.
The rapper, who also admitted to having had a sexual relationship with Lanez at the time, added, “Not a day goes by without being called a liar. This whole thing is about who I was having sex with, not who shot me, and I don’t know why.”
Megan’s testimony comes more than two years after she accused the “Say It” rapper of shooting her in the foot.
Lanez, whose legal name is Daystar Peterson, is facing charges of assault with a firearm, illegal possession of a firearm and negligent discharge of a gun for the July 2020 incident.
Lanez, 30, pleaded not guilty to both charges in November 2020.
Megan testified that the shooting erupted while she, her former best friend Kelsey Nicole, Lanez and his bodyguard were driving back from a party at Kylie Jenner’s house.
The “Savage” rapper claimed they got into an argument and she asked him to pull over so she could get out of the car.
“I’m in shock. I’m scared,” Megan recalled during her testimony. “I hear the gun going off and I can’t believe he’s shooting at me.”
The three-time Grammy winner also discussed how difficult it is to talk about the incident in front of her boyfriend, whom she began dating in October 2020, adding that the negative attention is impacting him.
“I feel disgusted, I feel dirty, my own partner is embarrassed,” Megan said of Pardi having to hear about the continued coverage of her sexual history with Lanez.
Meanwhile, Megan’s former bodyguard, Justin Edison, in the case vanished ahead of her scheduled appearance in court. The key witness was slated to testify in the ongoing hearings.
As it turns out, Edison was in Qatar working as someone’s bodyguard during the World Cup.
