Melissa Gorga slammed her sister-in-law, Teresa Giudice, as “fake” after text messages between the two of them leaked.
“Guys! I see you’re all curious about the text messages! Someone is definitely spiraling And needs to ‘prove’ herself working overtime,” Gorga, 43, wrote on her Instagram Story on Thursday.
During the Season 13 premiere of “Real Housewives of New Jersey,” Gorga claimed that she had texted Giudice to acknowledge that she wouldn’t be part of her bridal party, but the OG “Housewife” didn’t respond for three weeks — which contributed to their falling out.
“BUT THIS ALL PROVES MY POINT EVEN MORE!!!” Melissa — who is married to Giudice’s brother, Joe Gorga — continued. “She did not reply to the text messages I sent after we filmed the reunion!! CRICKETS!!! It wasn’t until three weeks later, and after the reunion AIRED – she was getting all the backlash about how poorly she treated her brother and I – that THEN she felt the need to reach out and clean it up.”
The alleged messages — obtained by AllAboutTRH — show that Giudice, 50, finally replied to Melissa with a photo of two men with Easter eggs painted on their butt cheeks on April 17.
The sister-in-laws had unrelated conversations before Giudice addressed the Season 12 reunion the night of May 3rd — the same night part one aired.
“Her reaching out right at the same time we were about to start filming and finally wanting to discuss our relationship and how she can fix it was FAKE!” Melissa claimed.
“That was inauthentic and was self-serving. We wanted off the roller coaster. Point blank. Can’t say much more now, but if you continue to watch this season, it will make much more sense.”
In the leaked text messages, Giudice admitted that, after watching the reunion, she realized their families have “gone backwards” and asked to get lunch.
Melissa responded the next morning with a lengthy message, where she called out her co-star for being “calculated” in trying to “fix the family again for the one hundredth time” after fans encouraged her to do so.
“I feel like this text is about you and not really about us,” Melissa replied the next morning, May 4. “Especially when we’re just about to go into filming again in two weeks. After all these years I’ve finally found a way to accept the way our relationship is.”
Melissa turned down Giudice’s lunch offer and, instead, explained that the latter “drew the line in the sand” by excluding her from her bridal party and announcing it publicly before telling her privately.
“You’ve said multiple times on interviews that we will never be friends. I agree with you. We will always be family and I will always wish you nothing but the best. See you soon.🙂,” Melissa finished.
Giudice wrote back two days later thanking Melissa for her “heartfelt and genuine” words and apologized “from the bottom of my heart.” She asked to talk again, but Melissa doubled down that she is “fine” with their relationship staying at a standstill.
The screenshots ended with Giudice inviting Melissa’s family over for her birthday and the latter telling her that they won’t be able to make it. The family sent over flowers for her 50th birthday bash on May 18 and Giudice thanked her.
Despite that conversation ending on a somewhat positive note, the two families have since stopped talking. Page Six broke the news that the Gorgas would be skipping Giudice’s wedding to Luis Ruelas in August after some cast members spread cheating allegations about Melissa.
Their close family friend and “RHONJ” co-star, Dolores Catania, recently went as far as to say she thinks it’s time for the families to “part ways” after years of explosive arguments.
