Here’s what you didn’t see on TV at the Golden Globes

While the Golden Globes was slammed as “awkward” and “uncomfortable” in its comeback on Tuesday hosted by Jerrod Carmichael, the show did manage to bring back some Hollywood glitz to the proceedings by attracting A-list stars including Brad Pitt, Rihanna, Selena Gomez, Eddie Murphy, Sean Penn and more.

Inside the Beverly Hilton, the awards — once known for its unhinged, boozy glamour as compared to the staid Oscars — was a bit more subdued this time around.

But as in other years, the real action went down at the bar at the back of the ballroom, and in the crowd when the cameras were off and the stars and Hollywood execs could schmooze.

Rihanna — who has been known for showing up fashionably late to red carpet events like the Met Gala — was the last star to arrive at the Globes, walking in a half hour after the awards started, on the arm of rapper ASAP Rocky.

A few minutes after her arrival, the pop star lost in the Best Song category. But she was later seen graciously congratulating the category’s winners — Kala Bhairava, M.M. Keeravani, Kala Bhairava and Rahul Sipligunj — behind the tune  “Naatu Naatu” from the foreign import “RRR.”

After Rihanna’s loss, Rocky was seen hanging at the back bar with fellow hip hop artist T.I. The Atlanta rapper was seen ordering a whisky, then asking the bartender, “Do you accept tips?” When the server mumbled that he did, T.I. pulled out a $100 bill and handed it across the bar.

At the back of the ballroom, “Pulp Fiction” director Quentin Tarantino was seen with his wife, Daniella Pick, congratulating Austin Butler for his win as best actor for “Elvis.”

“You killed it on ‘Saturday Night Live!’,” Tarantino told Butler, referring to his recent hosting gig on the NBC comedy show.

Butler then brought up classic film star Steve McQueen to the onetime film buff-turned-director Tarantino — and said he’d been fascinated with learning about McQueen’s career.

At the same time, Pick — in a gold gown with a plunging back — spun around and asked “Elvis” director Baz Luhrmann what he thought of the frock. (He approved.)

At the end of the show, Sebastian Stan of the “Captain America” franchise waited to catch up with his “Pam & Tommy” star Lily James. “I was going to say the nicest things about you if I won,” James told Stan with a laugh when she saw him.

Hollywood mensch and “Barry” star Henry Winkler was seen asking a table of guests when he passed by their off-the-beaten-track section of the ballroom if they’d like him to take a picture for them. They did want a pic of their group — and he happily obliged as celeb photographer.

Back in the bar area — where snacks are also served throughout the show — Hilary Swank, pregnant with twins, was being ushered in by her husband, Philip Schneider, as the show entered its third hour.

The two stood and noshed for three.

Selena Gomez hit the bar area accompanied by her 9-year-old sister, Gracie.

At an official after-party, Globes winners could get their trophies engraved, and “White Lotus” creator Mike White was spotted being congratulated at the bash by Jennifer Coolidge, Heidi Klum and “Better Call Saul” star Bob Odenkirk.

Tarantino, Lurmann and Leonardo DiCaprio (who was not at the awards) were later seen at the Soho House in West Hollywood holding court in the corner of a rooftop garden.

The trio were there as guests at an A-list bash hosted by Entertainment 360 power manager Justin Grey Stone, WME’s Elyse Scherz and Soho House’s Samantha Stone.

Also spotted at the celebration were Margot Robbie, Julia Gardner, Dakota Fanning, James Marsden, Evan Peters, Claire Danes, Tyler the Creator, and many more.

Elsewhere on the party circuit, hot distributor A24 — which is behind the films “Everything Everywhere All at Once” and “The Whale” — partied at the Beverly Hills Hotel, and the Steven Spielberg movie “The Fabelmans” celebrated the film with a private affair at Tommy’s Beverly Hills.
