Jennifer Lopez is remembering one of music’s greats this holiday season.
The 53-year-old actress, who played Selena Quintanilla on the big screen 25 years ago, stepped out for a family shopping trip yesterday in a gray graphic tee featuring the late singer’s image.
Wearing a pair of floral trousers and gray boots along with oversized aviator sunglasses, Ben Affleck’s new wife rocked her vintage-style T-shirt as she browsed the aisles of a Cost Plus World Market store with her 14-year-old child, Emme, as well as her sister, Lynda Lopez, and niece Lucie.
In the latest issue of “On The JLo,” the “Marry Me” star shared a few of her favorite gifts to give and get, including the musical shirts Selena’s family treated her to for Christmas.
“Suzette and the family sent me a great Selena gift box this week and I loved it!!!” she wrote. “I wore this Selena shirt right away to go Christmas shopping. If you like rock and roll tees … these shirts are a super cool gift. Selena was such a big part of my life, so you will see me rocking these in the new year for sure!!! Thank you Q fam!!!”
In the newsletter, the “Let’s Get Loud” singer showed off a different Selena T-shirt with a floral design.
The gift was certainly a meaningful one; the singer paid tribute to the movie’s 25th anniversary earlier this year, recalling the special memories of playing Selena, who was murdered by Yolanda Saldívar, the president of her fan club at the age of 23.
“This movie means so much to me … Selena and her family mean so much to me, and I was so lucky to be chosen to play her,” she wrote on Instagram.
What else got the Lopez stamp of approval this year?
Along with the Smooth + Seduce Contouring Body Cream ($60) and Tighten + Tease Resurfacing Body Serum ($60) from her own JLo Beauty brand, the “Jenny from the Block” singer sung the praises of the Hermès Avalon Blanket ($1,625) that’s also loved by Meghan Markle.
“I find them chic and a Bronx throwback at the same time,” she said recalling the “very itchy blanket” she loved growing up.
Along with designer blankets, she also calls herself a fan of Le Labo candles (it’s been said she orders 50 per month) writing, “This year I gave this Le Labo Candle Discovery Set ($67) to a few people in my inner circle. I am absolutely obsessed when it comes to their Santal 26 scented candle.”
