‘Margo Martindale loves looking ‘fat and crazy’ in ‘Cocaine Bear’

And Awaaay We Go!

Margo Martindale says her spiffy Park Ranger outfit in “Cocaine Bear” reminded her of Jackie Gleason.

“Honestly, as fat and crazy as I look in it, I enjoyed the way I look in it,” she told Page Six in an exclusive interview.

The darkly hilarious Elizabeth Banks-directed thriller, which is improbably based on a true story, centers around a 500-pound black bear who ingests a massive amount of cocaine and embarks on a manic drug-fueled rampage. As one can imagine, there are copious amounts of blood and many victims.

The actress, 71, shares most of her scenes with her on-screen crush, “Modern Family” star Jesse Tyler Ferguson.

“I just love him so much,” she enthused, adding, “Love him so much. He really makes me laugh.” She was equally effusive about how much fun it was making the ursine horror flick.

“Beyond your expectations,” she raved, “beyond your imagination.”

Martindale has been steadily working since the ’80s and has appeared in a myriad of movies such as “August: Osage County,” “Million Dollar Baby” and “Hannah Montana: The Movie.”

The Emmy winner revealed that she adored working with Miley Cyrus on the 2009 Disney Channel film.

“She was just extraordinary then, at 16. She was her own person,” Martindale says about the “Wrecking Ball” singer. “She was — she’s a real musician. She made me laugh all the time. And she had a unique sense of humor and a point of view … She was already huge. I didn’t know where that would take her. I kind of think she’s fabulous.”

The Texas native is perhaps even more well known for her roles on TV, including “The Americans,” “Justified” and voicing a fictionalized version of herself in the adult-animated show “BoJack Horseman.”

Martindale says she’s now in the position to turn down roles but admits that “it’s still hard to say no, it really is.”

“I would say if it was a s–tload of money, I would really think about it,” she said with a laugh. “But if we’re talking about a nice sum of money, as opposed to a great job, I would take the great job.”

Cocaine Bear” is out in theaters now and also stars O’Shea Jackson Jr., Keri Russell and the late Ray Liotta.
