Meghan McCain is not taking Ozempic to lose weight postpartum — no matter how many times she is “urged” to.
The former “The View” co-host claimed in a Daily Mail column Monday that she has been asked to try the trendy weight-loss drug since her daughter Clover’s January arrival.
“I’m told, ‘Everyone is doing it,’ as if that was ever a compelling case,” McCain, 38, wrote. “I hear, ‘Just take the shot’, as it has become known in shorthand.
“I was even offered a black market freebie by someone with ‘extra shots at home,’” she continued, clarifying that she has “refuse[d]” every offer.
“Let me make one thing very clear. I’m not taking it,” the political commentator explained. “There’s a clear moral issue here. … I would rather have a few extra pounds than shoot myself up with medicine.”
While McCain is adamant about leaving semaglutide to those who “legitimately struggle with obesity,” she also chose to turn down the antidiabetic medication in order to “set an example” to her children.
“[They] will one day face the same beauty standards,” she wrote of Clover and 2-year-old daughter Liberty, both of whom she shares with husband Ben Domenech.
“Their world will only be more challenging as social media seeps more deeply into the American mind,” the daughter of late Sen. John McCain noted. “This is not the world I want for them, and not the world I want for myself.”
Before becoming a mom in September 2020, Meghan tweeted that she wanted her anti-diet stance to make an impression on young women.

“Hope young girls see me and know they don’t have to diet either,” she wrote in October 2019 while slamming “harassment” from an online troll.
“[Comments like this] can lead women to eating disorders,” the former “Outnumbered” co-host added at the time. “I am one of the lucky ones who never suffered from it.”
The following year, Meghan clapped back at “bizarre” criticism of her weight.
“So many pundits and comedians with big platforms are so triggered by my body and spend so much time and energy talking about it,” the new mom wrote via Twitter, slamming “toxic culture.”
