Morgan Evans slammed ex-wife Kelsea Ballerini for leaving out “what really happened” between them from her new EP and subsequent interviews.
Evans, 37, took to Instagram on Tuesday night to address Ballerini’s recent comments about their five-year marriage ahead of her tell-all interview on the “Call Her Daddy” podcast.
“It’s really sad for me to see this person, who I spent so much of my life with, and loved with all my heart, saying things that aren’t reality and that leave out what really happened,” the singer wrote.
“She knows I’m not the type of guy to speak on those things publicly. If this is what she needs to heal, I hope it helps,” he continued. “All I ask is if that you’re on my pages, please don’t be mean. Don’t be mean to Kelsea, don’t be mean to each other.”
“Life’s too short,” the “Kiss Somebody” singer concluded the post.
The statement comes just hours after the trailer for the upcoming podcast episode dropped, in which Ballerini gave more details about the pair’s “nasty” split.
In it, Ballerini, 29, revealed that by the end of the relationship, she was “sleeping on the couch” and felt like she was the only one putting in any effort.
“I was just tired of showing up in that way all the time and not feeling like I was seen or matched,” she said.
After releasing her emotional EP about their failed marriage called, “Rolling Up the Welcome Mat,” the songstress took a jab at Evans’ latest breakup song.
“He’s putting out a song about being blindsided. He’s taking half the house that he didn’t pay for,” she told host Alexandra Cooper.

“How was I married to this person for this long and I had no idea … that bit of character was tucked within that human being,” she asked.
Ballerini filed for divorce from Evans in August 2022 and the former couple finalized their split just two months later.
While Evans hasn’t been linked to anyone since, Ballerini is rumored to be dating “Outer Banks” star Chase Stokes.
Romance rumors started to swirl last month after Stokes, 30, shared a series of photos on Instagram of the pair snuggled up to one another at a football game.
Although the pair have kept mum on their relationship status, the “Roses” songstress seemingly confirmed speculation that they’re dating after revealing that she is no longer single in the podcast trailer.
