Phoebe Bridgers gave her top tips for getting over a “heartbreak” amid speculation that she and Paul Mescal split after two years together.
“You just have to do it,” the 28-year-old told Amelia Dimoldenberg on an episode of her “Chicken Shop Date” YouTube series. “And it’s gonna end at some point but you can’t make it end, that’s my tip.”
When asked what heartbreak has “taught” her, the singer replied, “I think if I had figured that out, I wouldn’t be making music still.”
Although the “Motion Sickness” singer didn’t directly mention her 26-year-old beau, she had nothing but praise for his hit Hulu series.

“Do you think ‘Normal People’ is overrated?” asked Dimoldenberg, to which Bridgers laughed and said with a smile, “No, I think it is very appropriately rated.”
Bridgers and Mescal first sparked dating in August 2020 when they were spotted on a romantic vacation together. They made their red carpet debut over a year later at the 2021 LACMA Art+Film Gala in November.
However, many fans think the pair called it quits as the musician has been spending lots of time with comedian Bo Burnham — including at a showing of his film “Kate” in New York City last week.
The rumored new couple broke the internet earlier this month after The 1975’s Matty Healy posted a picture kissing the singer while Burnham stood behind them with his eyes closed.
While neither Mescal nor Bridgers have spoken out on their relationship status, their fans have flocked to Twitter to give their two cents on the situation.
“They can’t be breaking up, look at Phoebe’s face when she talks (indirectly) about Paul omg 😭,” one fan wrote on Twitter alongside a screenshot of the moment Bridgers was asked about Mescal’s show.
“Phoebe Bridgers and Paul Mescal breaking up is like the titanic sinking for people with mental health problems,” another fan wrote.

While a fourth person added, “hearing rumors phoebe bridgers and paul mescal broke up” alongside a video of Lisa Rinna crying on “The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills.”
The news of Bridgers’ potential new relationship comes as even more of a shock given the fact Burnham has been dating Lorene Scafaria for nearly a decade.
