Police called to John Mayer’s home over intruder

Police were called to John Mayer’s house in Los Angeles recently after the singer’s security team spotted an intruder on the premises.

A spokesperson at the Los Angeles Police Department confirmed the incident to Page Six on Monday, but did not immediately return our requests for more details.

However, law enforcement sources told TMZ that cops were called last month after the intruder was seen on Mayer’s security camera. The “Your Body Is a Wonderland” singer, 45, was reportedly not home at the time.

When police arrived, they scoured the outdoor area of Mayer’s property but didn’t actually enter the home, sources also claimed.

Police reportedly did not believe that the intruder ever entered Mayer’s home since the “Gravity” singer’s security team said the house’s alarm system was never triggered.

There was reportedly also a police helicopter that was searching the grounds from above.

However, the search was unsuccessful as the intruder was not found, according to TMZ. No arrests were made. It is unclear if an investigation remains open.

A rep for Mayer did not immediately return Page Six’s request for comment.

The Grammy winner has had his home broken into before. According to TMZ, Mayer’s house in Beverly Hills was “ransacked” in 2018.

Burglars reportedly took between $100,000 and $200,000 worth of property. Fortunately, the “Daughters” singer was not home for that incident, either.

Home invasions in Los Angeles have been on the rise in recent years, with many stars being a target of these crimes.

“The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills” star Dorit Kemsley was robbed at gunpoint with her two young children in the home in late 2021, and “Selling Sunset” alum Christine Quinn was the victim of an invasion attempt in March 2022.
