Riley Keough honors Elvis with guitar strap in ‘Daisy Jones & The Six’

Eagle-eyed fans noticed Riley Keough paid tribute to her late grandfather, Elvis Presley, in Amazon’s adaptation of Taylor Jenkins Reid’s bestselling novel, “Daisy Jones & The Six.”

During the show’s second episode, the 33-year-old actress — who plays a rockstar in the late ’70s — wore a red patterned guitar strap that bared a striking resemblance to the one Presley wore during his “’68 Comeback Special.”

While it’s unclear whether the unique strap was passed down to Keough or if it’s just a replica, fans praised producers for their “attention to detail.”

However, Keough recently revealed to Buzzfeed that she used her own guitar in the show, another indication that the strap may have belonged to the King of Rock ‘n’ Roll.

“I do have a fun fact that Daisy’s guitar is my guitar,” she revealed. “It was my personal guitar and I wanted to use it in the show.”

The show’s costume designer, Denise Wingate, also told People they hired a very special woman named Melody Sabatasso — aka Love Melody — to work on the project.

“She actually made two jumpsuits for Elvis Presley, so I had her make two beautiful, long coats for the show,” she added.

According to Wingate, Melody made Keough one “denim leather patchwork long coat” and the other in “a beautiful rust leather.”

The crew knew how important it was to “have a little bit of that history” in the project, leading them to dress Keough in lots of fur coats and black clothes for her dark spiral.

Not only were secret tributes to Elvis hidden in the musical show’s costume design, but also to Stevie Nicks.

Reid has said that the romantic tension between Nicks and Lindsey Buckingham helped her write the hit novel, leading Windgate to draw inspiration from the “Landslide” singer’s “Aurora” album cover.

“There was one dress that I had seen a photo of Stevie Nicks in,” she told Page Six, describing a “white sheer chiffon” number that was “just so beautiful and ethereal.”

While viewers, unfortunately, didn’t get to see much of the dress, Keough’s final look in the series was inspired by the song “Gold Dust Woman.”

“Daisy Jones & The Six” is now streaming on Amazon Prime Video.
