The Game defends 12-year-old daughter’s ‘inappropriate’ dress

The Game clapped back at fans who criticized his parenting skills after his 12-year-old daughter wore an “inappropriate” dress to a birthday party.

“I’m gonna say this once so people who aren’t her parents get it,” he began in a lengthy Instagram comment under the Shade Room’s post highlighting the criticism. “My daughter is 12 & both of her parents are more than strict.”

The Game then explained that California Dream Taylor’s mother, Tiffney Cambridge, called him and asked “would it be okay” if their daughter wore the dress to the party, which had a “futuristic” theme.

“After talking to her thoroughly for over an hour about it, I agreed to let my daughter rock.. being that she wears a school uniform 5 days a week,” the rapper — whose real name is Jayceon Terrell Taylor — continued.

The Grammy-nominated artist, 43, further noted that his daughter, who is a straight-A student, is very shy and usually “dresses like a Tom boy in baggy jeans and Dr. Martin boots.”

“I am her father & her protector and she is & will always be an amazing young woman,” he concluded.

“I wish everyone happy holidays & thanks for your opinions on a child that belongs to US but we GOT THIS. 🙏🏾.”

Back on Sunday, the “How We Do” rapper posted a picture of his daughter wearing a metallic dress to attend Sean “Diddy” Combs’ joint birthday party for twin daughters Jessie and D’Lila Combs.

“Somebody please tell the LORD to help…. She was just 2 years old like a week ago…. Now my baby is 12 years old, growing up & it won’t stop 😩😩,” he captioned the Instagram post, adding that he and Cambridge had allowed her to do her own makeup.

Noticing her dress, fans took to the comments section of his post to criticize the young girl’s “grown” look.

“pretty but yikes. I would NEVER LET MY 12YO dress like the girls you be bringing home,” wrote one person.

“This is beyond inappropriate. She’s 12 looking 18 or 19. We shouldn’t see cleavage [sic], or too much thigh. And the mkup [sic] was just way too much. Aint [sic] no way. Let her be 12!!!” another added.

“She actually looks too grown to be 12. A 12 year old shouldn’t be looking that grown,” commented a third user.

The Game is also a father to son, King Justice Taylor, 15, whom he shares with Cambridge, and son Harlem Caron Taylor, 19, from a previous relationship.
